Avacet Stead, a US citizen from New York, went to Ukraine with her husband Timothy Stead from Leeds, UK. She served as a driver and medic, also wielding an AK, alongside James Chadwick's crew. She was wounded in the face by shrapnel, causing her husband to flee.
